Raleigh police probe possible link in Subway robberies

The first robbery happened Jan. 23 at 10540 Durant Road; the second on April 5 at 6320 Capital Boulevard.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man believed to be connected to two recent Subway restaurant robberies in Raleigh.

The first robbery happened Jan. 23 at 10540 Durant Road, and the second, on April 5 at 6320 Capital Blvd.

Investigators said that in both cases, the assailant's description and the manner in which the robberies were committed were similar.

Each crime occurred around 8:45 p.m., and the robber in each case – a black man in his 20s wearing a green jacket and sunglasses – was armed with a handgun, police said.
