Planned Neighborhood Gets Own Interchange
The developer is putting up the $30 million for construction of a seven-lane interchange and parkway into the town of Wendell.
Posted — Updated“There is no other infrastructure project of this magnitude in my seven counties (Triangle to Virginia) that was 100 percent privately funded like this."
“In addition to spending more than $30 million to install the interchange on the US 64/264 Bypass and the parkway connecting to it, we are working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to make several changes to other roads leading to and from Wendell Falls,” Greg Ferguson, managing partner of Mercury Development said.
Construction for the interchange, parkway and residences began in November. Mercury Development expects a spring 2009 opening for Wendell Falls.
