The flu continues to spread across North Carolina, State Health Director Leah Devlin said Thursday. She noted that it is not too late for unvaccinated people to get flu shots to protect against the disease.
"We don’t know when this flu season will peak," she said, "But we do know that the season can extend until May, so this is a good opportunity to keep you and your family well.”
For the week ending Feb. 9, health care providers across the state reported 5.17 percent of patients had flu-like symptoms, which include a temperature of 100 degrees or higher and cough or sore throat.
