FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County Sheriff’s detectives Tuesday arrested the mother and younger sister of a woman already charged in an attack in which a Hope Mills girl's face was slashed with a knife last month.

Officials said they charged Audrey Ann Banks, 38, of 604 Sunpointe Drive, Hope Mills, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and being an accessory after the fact.

Banks' daughter, Jessica Michelle Leal, 18, of 5735 Hilltop Drive, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury after deputies said she attacked 17-year old Terra Madison, of 350 Grimes Road during a fight at Madison's home.

Madison suffered a laceration to the face and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Also arrested Tuesday was Jenea Arielle Banks, 17, of her mother's address. Deputies charged her with simple assault, saying she was with her mother when the elder Banks drove Leal to Madison's house so there could be a fight.

Audrey banks was released on a $35,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Jenea Banks was released on a $1,000 bond for a court appearance March 3, deputies said.
