Police said Tuesday that they want Gary Brady, 46, for murder in a shooting death last week.

Brady, whose last known address was on Hardee Street, is being charged in the death of Derrick Burch, 44, of Spring Creek Drive. Police found Burch shot to death last Friday night near the intersection of Southgate and Driver streets.

Brady and Burch "had been involved in an ongoing dispute," police said, though they did not disclose what caused the dispute.

Detectives said they also want Brady on a charge of obtaining property by false pretense in another case.

Police asked that anyone with information about where Brady is contact Sgt. Jack Cates at 919-560-4440, ext. 262, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

mindyourown and bwillis, your narrow train of thought only ampliflies your ignorance. it doesn't happen in Durham every day but it does happen somewhere everyday. wake county has a serial killer in custody right now. is that a reflection on wake county or a reflection of the woeld we live in? no particular municipality has a corner on the market for thugs, thieves and killers. they are everywhere. yes, Durham is straddled with a disenfranchised sector of the population where crime is more prevelant, but at the same time, Durham has another segment of society, diversified working, middle and upper class populations that want what everyone else wants. A safe place to live and work, where their children can play and learn. A city with adequate recreational resources, shopping and entertainment venues which compliment the quality of life in the city. Durham has all that and more. Don't down the entire city and it's residents solely as a result of the actions of a few malcontents

It is not a Durham thing or a N.C. thing. It is a black on black thing. Why do so many young black men think killing is a solution to thier problems ? I'm not black but I have black friends. They condeem this sort of behavior but don't seem to understand it either. Local officials will not address it for what it is for fear of not looking to be politically correct. Maybe one of the candidates running for govenor will take this problem to task. Until this problem is brought out in to the light and discussed openly , we can't start to make it any better.

mindyourown - Well at least they did not kill 5 people like in Raleigh. You stupid Durham jokes are getting old.

Just curious "MINDYOUROWN", how is this obviously drug related? No mention of it in the story.

So true Joefly... the liberals are killing this great state.
