2 Arrested After Raleigh Robbery Spree

Posted November 3, 2007

— Raleigh police arrested two men they said went on a robbery spree in Raleigh overnight Friday.

Investigators believe Everette Grimes, 19, and Jordan Honeycutt, 22, used stolen handguns to rob five individuals all before 2 a.m.

Armed men approached the victims while they were walking in a parking lot or using an automated-teller machine along Capital Boulevard. The thieves managed to get money from only two of the victims – in the amounts of $18 and $100.

Later Saturday morning, an officer spotted a vehicle that fit the description given by the victims. Both Grimes and Honeycutt were inside the car, and police took them into custody.

The men admitted to police that they were the robbers, officials said.

Grimes and Honeycutt separately face two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen goods. They were placed in the Wake County jail, each on a $300,000 bond.

djofraleigh; come out of prison older and wiser! Are you serious? They'll come out older, but that's just about it! Our prison system has nothing built in it to enable our criminals to re-enter society at large. Don't get me wrong. These guys need to have the book thrown at them! We are too soft on our criminals. We have a revolving door where guys like these just repeat their mistakes over and over again.

    Wiser? Probably not.

It's too bad that they didn't try to rob someone with a
    concealed carry permit.

Back in the day they didn't put ATM's on that side of town. I still am reluctant to use one at night in Raleigh.

I swear this was the guy, Jordan, who moved me 2 months ago. He worked for a moving company in Raleigh. I won't say the company's name. He also told me He has a seven year old child. I almost fell off my chair when they flashed his picture on the news. I ran to get the hubby to confirm. Too small of a world for me. Scary....
