RALEIGH — Of all the typical New Year's resolutions,a quest for improved personal health frequently tops the list. As aresult, health clubs enjoy such a boom in membership the first of eachyear. WRAL's Health Team Fitness Expert, Chris Mondragon, says there is much to consider before signing on the dotted line.

Mondragon says a good club will have a wide variety of freeweights, exercise machines and cardio-vascular equipment.

Lee Paynter says she's learned to look for more than just good equipmentin a new health club.

Mondragon says ask specific questions about the contract you'reoffered, such as under what conditions could you be released from acontract. He says reputable clubs will be flexible.
