FAYETTEVILLE — Some Fort Bragg soldiers helped catch asuspected rapist in Fayetteville Friday. George Wilcher is charged withrobbing and sexually assaulting a woman in a restroom at the Eutaw VillageShopping Center last week.
Welcher is also accused of robbing a woman Wednesday at a pay phonein the same shopping center.
Two green berets chased Wilcher across Bragg Boulevard and capturedhim. Charles Spence is one of the two soldiers. he says he and his buddyworked as a team to catch the suspect.
The suspect had a knife on him, but could not overtake thesoldiers, both of whom are members of the special forces.
