Hundreds Walk for Thought

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — Millions of Americans suffer from a memory robbing disease.Saturday hundreds of people gathered in the RTP, taking steps to fight Alzheimer's.

The annual memory walk is sponsored by the Eastern North CarolinaAlzheimer's Association. WRAL'sBillLeslielead a group on a 5 mile walk for charity. Those whoparticipated say walking for Alzheimers is a worthwhile effort.

"No one in my family has ever had Alzheimers," explains walker, FrankFleming, "but I know family members of friends who had it, and it's prettydevastating when you see what happens to them."

The money raised during Saturday's walk will support the many servicesoffered by the Alzheimer's Association to families dealing with thedisease.
