Suspect in Fayetteville Wendy's Shooting Identified

FAYETTEVILLE — The man who police sayfired shots outside a Fayetteville fast food restaurant Monday is now behindbars. One of the two shooting victims is dead. 

Police say 44-year-old Daniel McLaughlin shot and killed his wife, LenoraMcLaughlin, in the chest outside the Wendy's restaurant on McPherson ChurchRoad during an argument Monday at midday. He left the scene in a taxi whichpolice say they spotted and stopped minutes later. The cab driver, RoscoeHotten, was shot in the back, but he is expected to survive. He is listedin stable condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. 

McLaughlin is being held without bond, charged with murder, first degreekidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. 

Police say the McLaughlins were recently separated.
