"As a father, I don't know what's going on with my son," Lazo said. "I just want to get him back home where he belongs.

The two were last seen at about 3:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities said the two could be traveling in a four-door 1997 maroon-colored Geo Prizm with North Carolina license plate WNC-3856. It is not known where the two may be going.

His father said he will be 19 months old on Thursday.
