14-Year-Old Charged In Wilson Shooting

WILSON — A 14-year-old boy has been charged with shooting a 14-year-old girl in thehead Thursday afternoon at his home on Saul Street.

Wilson police said a petition was filed with charges of assault with adeadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. The youngman is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.

Neighbors said the girl lived with the boy and his mother and police saidthe two teens were home alone at the time of the shooting. Neighbors alsosaid there hadn't been any previous problems at the home.

Wilson police are trying to figure out what led up to the shooting thatsent the girl to Pitt Memorial. Doctors said the bullet passed throughboth her eyes and she will never see again. They're not sure if she willhave brain damage.
