RALEIGH — A rare seafood poisoning has turned up in Orange and Wake Counties. Seven new cases were reported Monday.
Three Raleigh couples say they became sick Monday after eating grouper they purchased at an area grocery store. Last week seven people who ate fish at a Chapel Hill restaurant became ill.
Health Officials say it could be ciguatera fish poisoning.
Each victim reported symptoms that included diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. They also reported burning palms, numbness and muscle weakness.
