Animals Not Immune to Heat Stroke
Posted June 26, 1997
DURHAM — The weather is creating a health concern not only for people, but for their pets. Two dogs died Wednesday in Durham of heat stroke.
The animal protection society says there are things you can do to keep your pets safe in the heat. If they have to be outside, make sure they have water. It's also important they have a shady place to relax. Water is not enough to save a dog's life in extreme heat.
