RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — Before plenty of fans and reporters, the Carolina Hurricanes unveiled their official logo Monday.
The logo shows the team's red and black colors in a spinning hurricane symbol. The eye of the storm looks like a hockey puck.
Already, Carolina Hurricanes merchandise is making its way into the fans' hands. Dozens of people sported Hurricanes jerseys at the Research Triangle Park unveiling Monday morning.
Team officials are pleased with the logo and with Monday's turnout. They say that the large number of fans at the unveiling is proof that the Hurricanes will take the Carolinas by storm.
