BENSON — A 17-year-old youth is behind bars charged withsetting his own apartment on fire in Benson. The fire began at about 1:30Monday morning in an upstairs room.
Firefighters were able to confine the flames to that room. Police saythe teen has signed a confession he stating that he torchedthe apartment himself.
No one in the neighboring apartments was hurt, but the apartments oneither side now have smoke damage..
Authorities estimate It will cost about $10,000 to repair the damage.
