FAYETTEVILLE — Arson investigators probe for clues as to what caused a fire thatdestroyed a church near Fayetteville early Thursday morning.
Parts of Genesis Free Will Baptist burned to the ground and investigatorsare still trying to decide if an arsonist is responsible.
Police say the building next to the church was broken into, butinvestigators are not sure if that is where the fire began. No one wasinjured.
There haven't been any services in the church for the last 18months, but church records are stored in the building. The mixed-racecongregation meets in another building in Hope Mills.
