Police Think Falls Lake Rapist Has Stalked Others

WAKE FOREST — Many people are expected to visit Falls Lake this holiday weekend, but it's not all vacation fun there right now. Wake County authorities are still looking for the man who kidnapped and raped a woman there earlier this week, and they're getting closer.
The Wake County Sheriff's Department it has learned that several other people were stalked in that area recently. Major Danny Bailey says they now have a composite drawing of a possible suspect.
The man is described as white, in his late 20's or early 30's, six-feet tall with light brown or sandy-colored hair and gold-framed prescription glasses. Bellamy says the man has been seen in the park near the dam several times, once less than 24 hours before the assault.
Despite the attack, people have returned to the usually peaceful park. Bellamy says that's good, because it is a nice place to visit, but he adds a word of caution. Women, he says, should seriously consider going with a friend.
