CHAPEL HILL — A bigger, better, state of the art Planned Parenthood is coming to Chapel Hill. Clinic contributors and organizers broke ground Monday.
Nearly $2 million has been raised to build the new clinic, which will be twice as big as the current facility and will offer clients a full range of health services.
For the first time in this area first trimester abortions will be included in services offered at the facility.
The new Planned Parenthood will serve both Orange and Durham Counties. CEO Janet Colm says there is community support for the organization and its services.
About a dozen anti-abortion activists armed with posters and signs, protested Monday's groundbreaking.
