RALEIGH — The man police say fired the bullet that struck 4-year-old Jermaine Huggins in February is now behind bars.
David Ashley was arrested Thursday morning in Wilmington for cocaine possession. He was later transferred to the Wake County jail in Raleigh on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
Police have been looking for Ashley for three months. Huggins' family received assistance from area churches and citizens in moving to a new neighborhood.
