RALEIGH — The North Caroline State Forest Service haslifted its red flag warning on the threat of forest fires, but the threatis hardly over. There was another fire in a wooded area of Wake CountyFriday.
Experts predicted that debris left behind by Hurricane Fran wouldcreate quite a fire hazard in wooded areas.
Firefighting crews working on the Friday fire that broke out in Carysay it never threatened any homes. They do not believe the fire wasintentionally set.
