DURHAM — Durham police are trying to figure out who shota man to death there Sunday night, and why. The shooting happened at about9:30 p.m. at the corner of Berkeley and Knox Streets.
Police say the man was shot in the chest with a high-caliber handgun.They have not released his identity.
Some witnesses say the many may have been the victim of a drive-byshooting.
Meanwhile, another Durham death is being called suspicious. Officersfound the body of a woman Sunday at the Budget Inn motel on HollowayStreet. Police have been unable to identify the body or determine thecause of death.
They say they do believe foul play may have been a factor.
