RALEIGH — Traffic on westbound I-40 was tied up at Wade Avenue for a while Friday, due to an accident that may have been caused by a highway sign crew.
The accident occurred about 11:30.
A motorist called WRAL-TV5 to report via cellphone that a highway crew dropped a sign they were installing. A car swerved to miss it and overturned.
The Highway Patrol says the driver was hurt in the accident.
