McCongratulations on McWedding

e-mail print friendly

Well, the catering should not have been a problem. For Valentine's Day a Raleigh couple had the Big Mac version of a wedding when they tied the knot under the Golden Arches.

The morning team at MIX 101.5 radio dreamed up the unusual mc-wedding for Valentine's Day.

Randy Ferrantino heard the idea, and thought it would be a great way for him to marry his love, Marta. He won the chance to take their vows alongside breakfast customers -- who were undoubtedly confused or amazed by the ceremony they were being served up along with the ham biscuit to go.

In the midst of the workaday world, the bride was decked out in full wedding regalia, and her groom was in a tux.

Even Ronald McDonald got in on the act, escorting the bride.

For sharing their special day with so many strangers, the Ferrantinos saved a bundle. Radio listeners donated the cake, flowers, music and photographer.

And the radio station is sending the newlyweds to Cancun for their honeymoon. And no need to worry -- the almost-strike by American Airlines didn't faze them -- their tickets were on Midway.
