ROANOKE RAPIDS — A teenager who led a Division of MotorVehicles officer on a high-speed chase last month in Northampton Countywas, according to police, part of a crime duo.
Melanie Mosely, 19, died instantly last month after slamming a stolencar into a tree. The DMV officer who pursued her said he attaineda speed of 130 mph at times and that Mosely was pulling away fromhim even then.
Now, police say they believe Mosely and AlexanderHarris were robbing homes in Pitt County just before the accident.
Harris is now being held in the Wilson County jail for his alleged partin those crimes.
