RALEIGH — A man was murdered at the Fairfield Inn onCapital Boulevard late Tuesday night.
Police say a guest heard gunshots, looked outside his room and saw shotto death near the stairs.
Business owners in the area say the violent crime is not a surprise.
Local business owner Walt Gibson commented that it hadn't always beenthis way.
Gibson said, "I know there's been a lot of break-ins. The guy nextdoor has bars on his windows. It's not the neighborhood it used to be."
Business owners say they still feel the neighborhood is safe, but theyadmit they have taken security measures to protect their stores and theircustomers.
