Student Spanking Approved in Nash-Rocky Mount

Posted December 12, 1996

— The Nash-Rocky Mount School board says it will allow students to be spanked when necessary. The board voted Wednesday night to allow corporal punishment in its schools.

Each school within the system will be able to decide whether its staff will use that method of discipline. Board members say the new policy will enable schools to avoid suspensions and enforce control

The board also voted to allow individual schools to require students to wear uniforms.

So the idea is to reduce violence and bad behavior by having the adults commit criminal violence and use extreme bad behavior (in the adults) in an effort to increase compliance. I really thought we were in the year 2016, not 1950. Good thing this isn't my child's school district or not only would criminal child abuse charges be brought, but I would make sure each and every educator who participated in these actions NEVER WORKED AGAIN.
