New Life in Old Hudson-Belk Store?

RALEIGH — New life may be breathing into the oldHudson-Belk store in downtown Raleigh.The News & Observerreports thatinvestors want to pump $10 million into the renovation project.

Developers want to turn the empty building into a variety ofrestaurants, nightclubs, retail stores and condominiums.

Renovations could begin next summer and be completed in about 18months.

The project certainly would help energize downtown Raleigh, which hasseen some restaurants and nightclubs close in recent months.
