Travel Agent Accused of Fraud Will Not Fight Return to N.C.

GARNER — The Garner travel agent arrested last month in West Virginia as a fugitive now says she'll come back to North Carolina to face fraud charges.
Kelly Kirk told a judge on Tuesday that she's changed her mind about fighting extradition after talking to friends from Garner on Thanksgiving.
The Wake County District Attorney's office had started the extradition process after Kirk refused to waive it at a November 26th hearing. The date of her return now depends on when North Carolina authorities can arrange transportation for her.
Kirk was arrested after a detective tracked her down using the Internet and a network of law enforcement friends. The detective began investigating Kirk's two travel agencies in October when customers lodged complaints with police that Kirk had cheated them. The money reported lost so far totals $80,000.
