Travel Agent Accused of Fraud Will Not Fight Return to N.C.

GARNER — The Garner travel agent arrested last monthin WestVirginia as a fugitive now says she'll come back to North Carolinato face fraud charges.

Kelly Kirk told a judge on Tuesday that she's changed her mindabout fighting extradition after talking to friends from Garner onThanksgiving.

The Wake County District Attorney's office had started theextradition process after Kirk refused to waive it at a November26th hearing. The date of her return now depends on when NorthCarolina authorities can arrange transportation for her.

Kirk was arrested after a detective tracked her down using theInternet and a network of law enforcement friends. The detectivebegan investigating Kirk's two travel agencies in October whencustomers lodged complaints with police that Kirk had cheated them.The money reported lost so far totals $80,000.
