Six Forks Extension Open

— It will easier getting around one section of Raleigh after Wednesday. The Six Forks extension, connecting Old Wake Forest Road with Atlantic Avenue, offers motorists an alternate route to downtown from North Raleigh.

Mayor Tom Fetzer and other city officials officially opened the road Wednesday afternoon. The project cost nearly $4.5 million and took two years to complete.
