I-95 Bust Nets Cocaine, Condiments In Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY — Over a million dollars worth of cocaine is off the streets.

Cumberland County deputies arrested Manuel Fernandez, 27, and Jose Vazqez, 36, during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 Tuesday.

The men, who are from New York, each face the following charges: trafficking cocaine by possession, trafficking cocaine by transportation and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

A stop for a seat belt violation led to a search of the car.Officers found 14.5 pounds of cocaine wrapped in mustard in the trunk. They say the drugs, with an estimated street value of $1.1 million, were headed to New York from Miami.
