Geomagic Cracks Final Red Herring Magazine '100 List'

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Geomagic

, a provider of 3-D engineering and rendering solutions, is the only company from the Carolinas and Georgia to track the final Red Herring 100 list.

RPath, a developer of Linux software solutions, and Nexidia, which develops audio search and data mining technology, had made the final 200 list along with Geomagic.

rPath is based in Raleigh. Nexidia is based in Atlanta.

The 100 list was culled from more than 1,000 nominations.

"With venture capital flowing again, we're seeing a lot of innovative new companies taking on the established players with disruptive technologies and innovative business plans," said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss. "The Red Herring 100 North America companies are pushing and breaking the boundaries of the technology business and we are excited to report on their success stories." The 100 companies will be honored at a conference May 23-25 in Monterey, CA.
