Duke Genomic Center To Partner With Clinical Data

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke's Institute for

Genome Sciences & Policy

is partnering with Clinical Data as part of a pharmacogenomics initiative to better understand genetic variants in various diseases and ailments.

Clinical Data, which is based in Newton, Ma., will provide genomic data to Duke in exchange for commercialization rights. The deal covers five years.

Duke will use Clinical Data information in a study focusing on cholesterol. Duke researchers are also conducting similar studies in hypertension and asthma.
