DURHAM, N.C. — Investigators have identified a man found dead in the median of the Durham Freeway.
The victim was Gumercindo Mendizabal. He was last seen alive on April 17. A state worker found the body under the Vickers Avenue Bridge last week.
Investigators are waiting for toxicology results and a final ruling by the medical examiner before issuing a cause of death.
