Woman's Chihuahua Escapes From Wake Forest Kennel

Posted Updated

WAKE FOREST — Everyone involved in the case of a missing dog says they are heartbroken over it, but the dispute may soon end up in court.

Buddy, a chihuahua, slipped out of Cobble Hill Bed and Biscuit near Wake Forest.

The kennel owners offered the Daniels family $250 for the loss of their little dog, but the family has hired a lawyer.

"The money isn't the thing. The money is not the issue. It's the heartache and the tears," says dog owner Christina Daniels.

The kennel owner says only one other dog, which later was found, has slipped out in 25 years of business. The North Carolina Animal Welfare Department says they have never received a complaint about the kennel.
