Pedestrian Injured In Beltline Accident

RALEIGH, N.C. — Some people ran into some problems with their morning commute following an accident in Raleigh.

At around 6:43 a.m. Wednesday, Raleigh police said a pedestrian trying to cross the outer Beltline between the New Bern Avenue and Brentwood Road exits was struck by a vehicle.

Police said the pedestrian was seriously injured and taken to WakeMed. Officers are working to confirm the pedestrian's identity and to notify family members.

Police had to briefly shut down three lanes on the Outer Beltline while officers conducted an investigation. Traffic was delayed for miles.
