DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a double shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., officers were called to 104 Erie St, where they found Boyd Taylor, 61, of Erie Street, who had been shot once in the face.

A few minutes later, they responded to another shooting call a short distance away, where they found Lamont Howard, 34, of Sunningdale Way. Howard had been shot several times.

Both men were taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment. Howard was in critical condition Saturday night and Taylor was in stable condition.

Investigators believe the two men shot each other during an argument and were still investigating the shooting Sunday afternoon. No charges have yet to be filed.
