David Reed, one of the firm's two co-founders who formerly served as CEO, remains with the company as a vice president, according to Bright View's web site.

The hiring of Teague comes three weeks after Bright View closed on $7.5 million in additional venture financing. The company has raised $15 million since being launched in 2002.

Bright View is developing technology to improve the sharpness and quality of rear-projection televisions and other devices.

Optical films are an enabling component of this technology and are found in virtually every display. Bright View is well positioned to be a major development and manufacturing force in this market. I look forward to working with the talented team at Bright View to maximize the opportunities the company faces."

At Cree, Teague served as a vice president responsible for business development, strategy and a number of emerging business units. He was also an executive for marketing and business strategy with JDS Uniphase.

"Ed Teague is a tremendous addition to our team. He brings a wealth of directly applicable management and technical experience to Bright View that is very well suited for our stage of growth," said Ed Fadel, who co-founded the company along with Reed. "We are looking forward to working with Ed as we continue to execute our business plan and extend our leadership position in the market."
