Durham Assault Suspect Apologizes Before Being Sent To Jail

— One of Durham's most wanted criminals is headed to jail.

Lorenzo Mondragon pleaded guilty to a 2001 attempted rape and a 2003 attack on a jogger. He apologized in court before the judge sentenced him.

Mondragon is an illegal immigrant who was also convicted of DWI.

He will spend at least eight years behind bars.

    2 cheers for our criminal justice system! hip hip hooray! hip hip, hooray!! Another fine example of our tax dollars and laws at work.

    I'm sure these laws will change when they have a direct impact on the law makers and judges themselves.
