Fast Company Cites Wake Forest Professor as a World-Changer

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Anthony Atala, director of the

Wake Forest University Institute for Regenerative Medicine

, is one of 50 people who "will change how we work and live over the next 10 years", according to Fast Company magazine.

Atala, a medical doctor, was recognized in the March issue. He is a urologist at WFU's Baptist Medical Center.

The institute is seeking to develop technology that will produce human organs for people in need of transplants utilizing a patient's own tissue.
