DNA Confirms Remains Are Those Of Missing Johnston County Man

Posted Updated

SELMA, N.C. — Officials now believe they know the identity of the person whose remains were found at a Johnston County farmhouse.

DNA results confirm the remains are those of Caesar Ortiz. The remains were found buried in Selma, along with those of 16-year-old Robin Clark. The couple disappeared in 1997.

Bobby Pollard, who owns the farmhouse, is charged with killing Ortiz.

The identification was delayed because investigators needed a DNA sample from Ortiz's mother in Mexico.
