A4 Executive Will Lead Business Unit As Part Of Allscripts

David Bond, president and chief operating officer of A4 Health Systems, will lead the A4 business unit now that the Cary firm has become part of Chicago-based

Allscripts

.

Allscripts said Friday that it had closed on the acquisition of A4 in a deal worth $215 million in cash, 3.5 million shares of Allscripts stock, and a working capital payment.

Bond has worked for A4 since 1998, starting as vice president of sales and marketing. He also was an executive at Medic Computer Systems, which was owned - and sold - by John McConnell. McConnell was also the majority owner of A4.

McConnell was named to Allscripts' board of directors as part of the sale. He also will continue to be involved in marketing, sales and industry efforts, according to Allscripts.
