DURHAM, N.C. — Police are searching for the driver of a car that hit a child as the boy crossed a Durham street to catch a bus Monday morning.
The incident happened as a 7-year-old was crossing the street at
Dial Drive and South Alston Avenue
when a car failed to stop at the school bus, Durham police said.
The car hit the left side of the child and the driver stopped momentarily, got back in the car and left.
The boy was taken to Duke Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Durham police believe the car was a Honda, but they are not sure of the color, year or specific model.
