Cumberland County Cracks Down On Video Poker

FAYETTEVILLE — The sheriff's department in Cumberland County hit the jackpot Friday as deputies confiscatedmore than a dozen video poker machines and expect to seize more.

They plan to hit ten businesses that illegally made money from video poker machines.

At one location, investigators found one machine that took in more than 40 thousanddollars from customers.

The sheriff's department decided to crack down on the machines after they receivedseveral complaints about videopoker payouts.

Besides the video poker machines, authorities also took in $15,000.00 in cash and adeed for an acre and a half of landused as payment by a customer.
