The state showed off some of its new online applications at the GTC 2000 Technology and History Conference in Raleigh on Thursday.
TheDepartment of Motor Vehicles'new online registration process has been a big success. About 24,000 drivers have registered their cars online in just seven weeks.
"Convenience and an ease in the transaction are the No. 1 and 2 things we hear from our customers," says DMV spokesman Jonathan Parks. "They want to do it on their terms, and they want to do it at time that's convenient for them. This puts both of those in their hands."
North Carolina is looking at funding 13 more online projects at 11 different state agencies.
