Three Injured in Fayetteville Chase, Hit & Run

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police are looking for a man they say was in an accident that sent a police officer and two others to the hospital.

Officers were responding to a domestic call on Lady Viola Drive Tuesday morning. When they arrived, officers say Roy Brayboy, 23, got into his car and took off.

Just up the street on Pamalee Drive, police say Brayboy was involved in an accident with an SUV and a police car.

Detectives say the officer in the car that was struck was responding as backup to the domestic call.

"The suspect left the scene and there was a collision. At some point, the patrol car became involved with that collision." says Lt. Katherine Bryant, of the Fayetteville Police Department.

Officer Ron Campbell and both people in the SUV were taken to the hospital; they were not seriously injured and released Tuesday evening.

Police say Brayboy ran from the scene after the accident. He is wanted on unrelated charges and is facing new charges from this latest incident.
