CARRBORO — Carrboro police have cracked a theft ring they say targeted area college students and homeowners.

Laptop computers, CDs, and cameras were just a few of the items stolen from the Triangle area.

Police picked up Barry Clayton of Cary after someone called 911 to report two men breaking into an apartment.

Carrboro Police Detective J.A. Lau said Clayton is charged with possession of stolen property, and more charges could be filed later.

"If Raleigh [investigators] can get enough information, they may seek additional charges as far as the actual breaking and entering, and larceny," Lau said.

Many of the items were stolen from the Raleigh area.

Police are still searching for another suspect -- Michael Bozelle, 21, of Cary.

If you know the whereabouts of Bozelle, call Crimestoppers at226-CRIME.
