LUMBERTON — A 10-year-old boy is nursing his wounds and the pit bull dog that bit him is locked up in Robeson County.
It happened Tuesday after the boy left West Lumberton Elementary.
The dog's owner told WRAL-TV5 that the dog slipped out of his collar and ran straight toward a group of children, then bit the boy on the foot.
The boy's wound required stitches. The dog will remain in quarantine until animal control officers can determine if it is vicious
