Rabies Outbreak in Durham County Prompts Warning

DURHAM — If this rabies outbreak doesn't slow down soon, officials say they are going to have to get far more aggressive in their rabies vaccination enforcement.

Health officials offer this advice:

Children shouldn't approach animals they don't know, even if they don't appear rabid.

All pet owners should make sure their animals are vaccinated against rabies.
