LUMBERTON — July 25, 1996 - 1:44 p.m.EDT
A late night fire tore through the auditorium of a school in Robeson County Wednesday.
Firefighters from 11 departments rushed to battle the blaze at Orrum Middle School. Some had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The school's roof collapsed just minutes after crews arrived.
The county already had plans to demolish the building
